Don't take our word for it. Watch.

Every clip here was shot on our 70 acres: ATV runs down the creek, climbing on the bluffs, a winter pond plunge and a treasure hunt that a few curious wild hogs decided to join.

Why Bearly Earth is a different kind of Jasper, Arkansas cabin rental

Search for a cabin rental in Jasper, Arkansas and you'll find a lot of nice cabins on small lots. Bearly Earth is built around the land. The log cabin sits on a high, open ridge in southern Newton County, and from the porch you can see layer after layer of Ozark ridgeline. All around it are 70 private acres of trails, ponds, waterfalls, bluffs and boulders, and past the property line is the Ozark National Forest.

Built for ATV and UTV groups

Few rentals near the Buffalo River are set up for riders the way this one is. There's dedicated trailer parking, a big gravel staging pad by the house and 15+ miles of private trails you can ride from the driveway. Groups bring four-wheelers and side-by-sides and still find new trails on day three.

Room for families and friend groups

With 4 bedrooms, 7 beds and 3 full baths, the cabin sleeps 10 and works well for two or three families. Kids get a bunk room, a playroom, chickens to visit and a real cave to explore. Adults get the fire pit, the hammock and that porch.

Close to everything on the Jasper side of the Ozarks

The Arkansas Grand Canyon overlook is about 20 minutes away. Jasper's square and Pedestal Rocks are about 30 minutes, Sam's Throne is about 35, and the Boxley Valley elk, Lost Valley and the upper Buffalo National River are 50 to 55 minutes. Hawksbill Crag is a little over an hour.

Good to know

Questions we get a lot

All FAQs →

How big is the property?

Bearly Earth is 70 private acres, and the whole property is yours during your stay. It borders thousands of acres of the Ozark National Forest and has more than 15 miles of private trails, three wet-season waterfalls, two ponds, sandstone bluff lines, boulder fields and a shallow rock-shelter cave.

Can we bring our ATVs, UTVs or side-by-sides?

Yes. Guests regularly trailer in their own four-wheelers and side-by-sides to ride the private trails. There is trailer parking and a large gravel staging area by the house. One group brought three trucks with trailers and noted there was room for more. On national forest roads beyond the property line, follow the Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map and Arkansas OHV rules.

How far is Bearly Earth from Sam's Throne?

Sam's Throne is about 35 min (19 mi) from the cabin, near Mount Judea. It is one of the best-known traditional rock climbing areas in Arkansas and also has short hikes and big views over the Big Creek valley.

Where can we see elk near Jasper, Arkansas?

The wild elk herd is easiest to see in Boxley Valley along Highways 43 and 21 near Ponca, about 50 min (32 mi) from the cabin. Go at dawn or dusk and use the roadside pullouts; September and October are the rut, when the bulls bugle. The free Ponca Nature Center (Arkansas Game & Fish) is open Wednesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and staff can share recent sightings.
