Where exactly is Bearly Earth?
The cabin sits on a private 70-acre ridge in Newton County, Arkansas, with a Pelsor mailing address, between the Scenic 7 Byway communities of Jasper to the north and Pelsor / Sand Gap to the south. The tiny community of Deer is about 15 minutes away, and the Ozark National Forest wraps around the property. For privacy, the map on this site shows the general area only. Your hosts send the exact address and directions once your reservation is confirmed.
Driving in
Most guests arrive on Scenic Highway 7, either north from I-40 at Russellville or south from Harrison, or across the mountains on Highway 16 or Highway 123. These are beautiful two-lane mountain roads with steep grades, tight curves and few gas stations, so fill up before you leave the interstate or Harrison. They're slower than the map suggests, especially at night or in fog.
- Arrive in daylight if you can. It's easier to find the drive, and you'll see the view on the way in.
- Download offline maps before you leave town. Cell signal comes and goes in the Ozarks.
- Pulling a trailer? You're in the right place. There's dedicated trailer parking and a big gravel pad at the cabin.
- Winter weather: ice and snow are occasional but real, so check the forecast and road conditions before you go.
Check-in
Check-in is 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM with self check-in by keypad, and check-out is before 12:00 pm (noon). Your hosts usually have the fire built and ready to light.
Stock up on the way
There's no big grocery store near the cabin, which is part of the appeal. Plan a stop on the way in:
- Harrison, AR, 1 hr from the cabin (37 mi): Groceries & big-box stores.
- Russellville, AR, 1 hr 20 min from the cabin (51 mi): I-40 access.
- Deer, AR, 15 min from the cabin (4.1 mi): Closest community & café.

Look for the “Welcome to your adventure” sign
When the gravel drive turns off and you see the carved wooden Bearly Earth sign with the Bigfoot arrowhead, you're home. The drive winds up through the woods to the cabin, with trailer parking and a big gravel pad beside the house.

Flying in?
Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) and Little Rock's Clinton National Airport (LIT) have the most flight options and rental cars, at about 2½–3 hours each. Springfield–Branson (SGF) works for Missouri routes. Boone County Regional Airport (HRO) in Harrison is the closest at about 1 hr 10 min but has limited service. Whichever you choose, plan on a rental car. Don't count on rideshares this far into the mountains.
